Palative Care

Reflexology can be an important therapy to make the final days, weeks or months as comfortable as possible.

Reflexology can be a way to communicate silently, express love and concern and help the person relax. Relaxation techniques can encourage a deep, restful sleep.

This therapy can provide a systematic way to touch the terminally ill, which is as therapeutic for them as well as the friends and family. It takes the mind off the suffering and focuses it on relaxation. While the laying on of hands is always beneficial for the terminally ill, at times it may not be possible to touch them directly where the pain is, either because it is internal or because the body can not tolerate the pressure there. The feet are seldom in too much pain to be worked; and because the entire body is represented on the foot, reflexology sessions may directly influence organs and painful areas of the body.
